Happy Turkey Day
We are officially into my favorite time of year. I love fall. Everything about it. The only problem that I am having this year is that we as the Mogle family have not had to bust our warm clothes. That is the only complaint I have about living here in St. George. Don't get me wrong, I love the warm weather, I just miss being able to wear my warm clothes. I miss my jackets, long sleeve shirts, sweaters, and boots....not that I wear them that often but I do miss them. We do love it down here and feel very blessed to be living here.
There are many things that I am grateful for this year:
1. living close to grandpa
2. being a mom....I have my share of "bad mom moments" just ask Paul, but I love my kids and feel very lucky and blessed to be able to have them in my life
3. staying home with the babies
4. Paul
5. mama finn and family....where would I be without them
6. the gospel...mainly primary....I love primary and I love my calling
7. my home
These are just a few of the things that I am thankful for.
I hope that you all have a Happy Thanksgiving. Eat lots and enjoy the time you have with your family. Until next time!

State 4H in Vernal
This weekend Mom, Rob, Shelbie and Brittani loaded up the horses and headed to Vernal, Utah for State 4H. There is a lot of time and preparation that goes into state. Both Shelbie and Britt have been participating in 4H horse shows throughout the summer and because they earned enough points they get to go to State. They started the competition this morning at 8:00 and they go the whole weekend. We are so excited they made it this far and hope they both do well!

Well, Russ and Janiel, Sharon and Connie, and Rob, Shelbie and me got together for dinner at McGraths Fish House Saturday night. We had a really nice time together. We laughed a lot and enjoyed each others company. We talked about our wonderful dad and the family reunion. It was great to be together. Hopefully we can do it more often!

Lucky Duck
Auntie Sharon sent this:
We have a celebrity in the family. Tracey has won a brand new Four Wheeler. I think it is a Honda 500?
She always fills out the drawings at Albertsons, and any where else. She was doing her grocery shopping on Friday August 1st. She saw that they were having a drawing for a four wheeler. So she stopped by, filled out a ticket for her and one for Bud, finished her shopping and went on home. When she got home there was a message from the radio station, that her name had been drawn. She was to go to Jorgenson’s ATV dealership in Richfield, that night for another drawing. There was a process of elimination. This time it was to see if you picked the right key to open a lock. There were about forty people there for this. She picked a key, and it unlocked a lock. Now she was eligible to go on to the next elimination which would be Saturday night at the Derby. So, her Bud and the kids went to the Derby. Now there were only eleven other people besides her that were eligible for the next drawing. This time they all were to go down to the arena and get on a big trailer, that had the four wheeler on it, and be paraded around the arena. Since she is kinda of shy?, she wasn’t so sure that she wanted to go get up on the trailer, but she did. Being a little nervous she climbs up on the trailer. They drive around the arena, to get the crowd motivated. Now it’s time to draw a name. The radio disc jockey draws the first name. It’s not Tracey’s, darn! But not to worry. Her and Bud had discussed what options she had. You see, each person was to win some kind of prize. First there would be the four wheeler, then there was a trailer to hold four wheelers, then a bag to put on the four wheeler, then a bike, a case of coke for a year, a remote control car, and some other smaller gifts. The young lady whose name was drawn first, picked a key it didn’t start the four wheeler. GOOD. So she picks the remote control car. She is happy with that. Then the next name they draw out is Tracey’s ,WHOOPI!!, she is so excited, because she thinks she is going to get the trailer, like her and Bud had discussed. So she climbs up on the four wheeler, sits on it and reaches into a box that she can’t see into and reaches around for a key. She picks one, pulls it out and puts it in the ignition, thinking yippy, I get the trailer. She turns the key and glory be……….Sirens go off and the four wheeler starts up.! The crowd cheers, Bud is up in the crowd whistling and oh so very excited. Tracey is overwhelmed and can’t believe she has won the four wheeler. Bud comes down from the crowd jumps up on the trailer so he can inspect the new TOY. Tracey is all smiles. The radio disc jockey asks her, so what do you say?, she says “thank you? ”, and then he says where will you take it, she says “to the mountains? ”. The crowd laughs. Now she is sitting on her brand new four wheeler and they parade her around the arena, on the trailer. She feels like a beauty queen sitting up there, so she gives a little wave to the crowd.
They have picked it up and have taken it to the mountains riding and it goes real fast, they are happy. Now they need to BUY a trailer to hold all their four wheelers, you see they had just bought a big CAMAM just a few months ago, and they still have their old one. The moral to this story is, always fill out those drawing tickets. You just might win.

not actual prize!!

Auntie Sharon's Lunch Date

Today, July 7, 2008 was my dad's 87th birthday!.. I went up to St. George, to take them out to dinner to celabrate this remarkable man's birthday. I had such a good time visiting with dad and Nell.
At the resturant, I excused myself to go to the restroom, and told our waitress that it was dad's birthday. So after we had finished our meal, a group of employees came to our table singing Happy Birthday! and presented dad with a "hot fudge sundae". He truely was surprised. As he heard them singing and clapping before they arrrived at our table he was looking around to see what was going on. He had completely forgotten that it was HIS birthday! He was so happy and surprised, just like a kid. He said, "how did they know?" then he realized that I must have told them when I went to the restroom. It really was priceless to see his response!
We sat there for about three hours visiting. Dad was telling stories about his experiences in the war. I wished I had remembered to have taken my tape recorder. Darn it!. We talked about what he wanted to have on his "headstone" when he leaves us, in many years to come. I had just been to a funeral a few days before, that had a military service. I told dad that we needed to know more about his military responsiblities, so that we could include them in his obiturary. Something that I didn't know was that dad was in the third army of General Patton's regiment. Now, I know you all are probably thinking what a conversation to be having on his birhtday, talking about his obiturary! But believe me, we laughed, giggled, and cried about so many different events and experiences that he has had in his life! We are so fortunate to have such a great father, and grandfather, that is so healthy and alert for his age! Granted there are times he does get a little forgetful, but don't we all?
As we were leaving, I told dad that we would meet again next year, same time, same day, just maybe a different resturant to celebrate another year. He told me that's a date!!!!
Both dad and Nell are doing well. They are happy and content.

Greetings from the Finn Family
Our summers the past few years have been pretty eventful. Shelbie stays busy and keeps us busy with 4-H and queening. I don't know what happened to the nice quiet long summers I had as a kid. Anyway, we loved the family reunion. I can't believe how much I look forward to seeing everyone and being together with all of you. Yes, it was hot in Snow Canyon but everyone I've talked to had a really good time.
If you don't already know what's going on with our family, here's an update. Ericka, Chris and the 4 kids, Brittani, Cloey, Natalie and Skyler are living with us for a year or two. It's been fun to have the grandkids here everyday. There are 9 of us living in this house. Chad is married to Misty and they have her two boys Steven is 6 and Gregory is 4. We love Misty and the boys. They live in Ephraim. Tara and Paul have 2 baby boys, Connor is 21 months and Dylan is 1 month (go Tara!) They live in St George. Scott is still single (and happy to be that way for now) working and living in Ephraim. And as for Shelbie, she is doing great and loving her horses. They keep her pretty busy. Rob stays busy with work and helping Shelbie with the horses. So our lives are pretty full. I won't post any pictures for now. Just click on Mama Finn's blog and you'll see a lot of the family.
Love you all. Pam

Hello from the Poole Family
Hello from the Poole Family,
It was nice to see everyone and visit at the reunion. Wish we could have spent more time visiting. Oh well, life is great here in South Jordan. Things are quiet around the house with Crystal gone. But, she loves it up in Logan and we are excited for her. She has one more year and she will graduate from Utah State University. We pass the time by going to work each day and then coming home to water our lawn and flowers. We love to go to movies and just hang out.
We try to take a vacation once a year and so this spring we went to Williamsburg, Virginia. Crystal was able to go with us and we took Rondo’s Mom & Dad with us as well. Needless to say, we had a great time. We learned so much about the Revolutionary War it really made me want to go back to school and take a few history classes. Colonial Williamsburg is famous for the many freedom debates that took place there by Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. We also went to Jamestown, Virginia which was the first permanent English settlement in the United States. We learned about the sacrifices and hardships these early settlers endured. To complete the famous historical triangle, we visited Yorktown which is famous for the last battle of the Revolutionary War. The British General Cornwallis surrendered his army to General George Washington here. It was a very interesting vacation. We were able to see the homes of a few of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. This 4th of July as we remember the sacrifices that the founders of this country went through, I feel a more personal relationship to these great people. Crystal and I were able to take a day trip to Washington, D.C. I was able to see the Declaration of Independence! Now I want to go back to D.C. someday when we can spend more time. We stopped in Atlanta, Georgia on the way home and visited Stone Mountain and the Georgia Aquarium. I love the Georgia Aquarium and finally got to show it to Rondo and Crystal.

This summer we are just staying home and trying to stay cool in this very hot weather. We are going to Idaho for the 4th of July. We love the big celebration in the small town of Menan where Rondo grew up. We are expecting some company this August. We will be hosting some great friends from Japan and my cousin’s family from California.
Love to you all!

Family Blog
Hello Bauer family!!! As many of you know Paul and I have a blog set up for our own little family but I thought it would be a good idea to set a blog for the entire Bauer family. I will manage the blog so if you have pictures, letters, whatever...that you want to post on the blog just send them to my email and I will post them on this family blog. When you send stuff to me please write out exactly what you want me to write on the blog otherwise I will just make something up to post. Does that make sense? I would like to list birthdays and other special events on here as well. Please take pictures of your family and we can keep in touch with one another through this. If you think this is lame, don't help me out but I would love for this to all work out.
Love to all
