She did it again....

This last weekend Mama Finn and family all joined together in Mt. Pleasant to watch Shelbie compete in the Miss Mt. Pleasant Rodeo Queen competition. Shelbie did awesome. She had to ride her horse in the freezing cold....snow! The horse had a slip up but Shelbie kept it together and pulled it off. She is an excellent rider....but we all already knew that!
After the riding was over we had a break and went to lunch then it was off to get ready for the modeling, speech, and interview. Mama Finn made her dress again this year (Ericka was the Jeweler:). Let me just tell you, Shelbie looked stunning. Her dress was perfect for her. She definitely stole the show....and the judges "loved her bright colors!"
Shelbie is improving every year that she competes. Her speech was so cute and really showed her cute personality. She was able to answer all the questions in the interview and felt very good about how she did talking to the judges. The competition was very intense this year. All the girls competing had been in royalty before and so level of competition was top notch and very entertaining to watch.
With the scores tallied, nerves in over-drive and the competition over the results were announced and.......Shelbie got 1st Attendant!!!!! It was so exciting to be a part of. She really impressed everyone that was there. She was beautiful and we are all so proud of her.
Way to go Shelbo!

This pretty face...

is GRADUATING!

Can you believe its been 4 years of college already. I can't. I can remember trying to figure out how old I would be when Crystal started kindergarten in hopes of walking with her to school! Yep, time flies. Here she is with a bachelors degree and ready to do great things in the world....not that she hasn't already done great things.

Crystal has earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. She will graduate May 2nd 2009 at 9:30 am at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan, Utah.

Congratulations Crystal! I hope life brings you many more great experiences. You are such a great example to our family! Good luck with wherever life takes you.

Go Aggies!

Love (your favorite cousin),
Tara

And one more makes NINE

Chad and Misty are the proud parents of Colton Robert Christensen!

Colton decided that he was going to make a grand entry into the world. He decided at 12:45 last night that it was time. Misty's water broke and so they loaded up their car and Chad drove like a crazy man to get to the Mt. Pleasant hospital. They got Misty into a bed and 5 minutes later Colton was here.

No epidural

No drugs

and he was breech! haha, not a funny little joke to play on mom and dad! The nurse barely had time to get her gloves on....and the doctor wasn't even there!!!

Colton weighed in at 7 pounds 15 ounces. He is 20 inches long and he has lots of brown hair!!!

I got to talk to Chad for a few minutes this morning and he says they are all doing really well. Tired, but doing well. Because Colton was breech his little bum and legs are bruised but other than that he is healthy and happy. Chad is still in shock after all that has taken place. As for Misty, lets just say she is a proud mama and a strong one at that!!!!!

And so, one more baby makes nine beautiful grandbabies for grammy and grampy Finn!!!!!

Congratulations to Chad and Misty!
